GREETINGS! |
I am the future of a child's lifelong education. I hope to make an impression on not just one child but many. Despite being surrounded by immediate family and friends in the education field I was determined not to enter into the career. I come from a long line of educators. I spent several years outside of the education system, in my mind about six years to long.
I had come to the hard and fast realization that there is nothing better than seeing the bright expression of understanding on a child's face when they "get it" and doing everything I can to help them along the way. Teaching and assisting children to utilize skills that they will have for the rest of their lives is a wonderful accomplishment. It is hands down the best souvenir one could have in this life – even in the face of all the naysayers in and around the educational arena. My husband, young daughter, many animals and I have lived in Utah our entire lives. I LOVE UTAH! I grew up in West Valley City and graduated from Hunter High School. I enjoy all that Utah has to offer. When I’m not in a classroom, I especially enjoy snowboarding, soccer, nature and am a colossal Tottenham Hotspurs and Real Salt Lake fan. I love the summer months, but would not trade the greatest snow on earth for anything. Before my education days, I spent my time as an after school and summer school coordinator in Salt Lake School District. It is here where my passion for education and teaching was reignited. My entire teaching career has been with Granite School District. I hold a bachelors degree in Speech Communication and a masters degree in Educational Psychology with licensure for K-6 and an English Language Learner endorsement, all from the University of Utah. |
